The following is the new standard specification for the Hunter Range

DIMENSIONS

Eaves Height -  2.2m (not including height of brickwork)
Ridge Height -   3.1m (not including height of brickwork)

SECTIONS

Framework
Constructed of 70 x 45mm round edged timber with vertical studwork at approx 480mm centres. Wind bracing fitted on all unlined structures. Double studwork on all door apertures (70 x 90mm) and further 70 x 45mm timber bracing fitted at 1.220m. Rainwater skirt is fitted to the bottom of all rear and side walls to prevent water ingression between brick course and sections.

Cladding
16x120mm (finished size) overlap shiplap fixed with 38mm triple life sheradized ring shank nails.

D.P.C.
A damp proof membrane is fitted to the top of the brickwork prior to the sections being fitted

Fixing To Base
Bolted to concrete base by galvanised strapping with at least 3 straps per 3.6m section. Additional straps are fitted either side of all doorways or apertures.

Door Frames & Openings
Double uprights (70 x 90mm) on either side of all door openings. Optional weatherboard cladding will also require addition of 100 x 75mm doorframe. Opening height is 2160mm (assuming single course of brickwork at 80mm height).
Stable door-opening width is 1200mm.
Tack / Feed room door opening width is 1000mm.
Barn door openings range between 2100mm to 2400mm.

Internal Lining
Stables are kick-boarded to 1.220m height as standard with 18mm Wisa plywood. Dividing partitions are also lined in 18mm plywood to eaves height (2.2m) on the one side. All plywood finished with golden brown treatment.

Windows
600 x 780mm part louvered joinery grade timber framed window fitted to front elevation of all loose boxes. Top part ventilated with lower part glazed with 4mm acrylic protected with solid vertical steel bars on the inside. One window is also fitted to a rear wall of all corner boxes.

Cover Strips
All joints between sections have a bead of weatherproof fexible sealant applied prior to cover strips being fitted

DOORS 

Stable Doors
Approx. 1190 x 2130 x 56mm (to fit 1200mm opening)

Constructed as follows:

  • Clad with 145x19mm V jointed tongue & grooved planed timber
  • 200 x 25mm ledged and braced framework
  • All ironmongery is hot dipped galvanised
  • All chew strips manufactured with 15mm dia. corners
  • 600mm hook and band hinges
  • 50mm chew strip to top of bottom door
  • Top door frame protection fitted including inside edge of top stable door
  • Lined internally with 9mm exterior grade plywood
  • 200mm brenton bolt to bottom door
  • Kick-over latch
  • 112mm oval pad bolt to top door
  • 150mm cabin hooks to both doors
  • Bottom door height 1270mm
     

Tack / Feed Room Doors
Approx. 990 x 2130mm x 56mm (to fit 1000mm opening)

Constructed as follows:

  • Clad with 147 x 19mm V jointed tongue & grooved planed timber
  • 200 x 25mm ledged & braced framework
  • Lined internally with 9mm exterior grade ply
  • All ironmongery hot dipped galvanised
  • Steel frame door construction
  • Door frame protection
  • Three 450mm hook & band hinges
  • Keyed cylinder lock with heavy duty security bolt

Hay Barn / Garage Doors
Approx. 2090 or 2390mm wide x 2130mm high x 47mm (to fit 2100mm or 2400mm openings)

Constructed as follows:

  • Clad with 145 x 19mm V jointed tongue & grooved planed timber
  • 200 x 25mm ledged & braced framework
  • All ironmongery hot dipped galvanised
  • 600mm hook & band hinges (3 per door)
  • One 200mm brenton bolt
  • Two 150mm cabin hooks per set of doors
  • 150mm spring bolt and 300mm drop bolt 

One door (normally left) closes and is secured by the 150mm spring bolt at top and 300mm drop bolt at bottom. Second door then closes onto first and is secured by the brenton bolt. A padlock (not supplied) can then be fitted if required.

If hay barn doors are not under the front overhang but are sited in an end elevation or side elevation, a metal drip rail is also supplied and fitted as standard

ROOF

Overhang / Canopy
1.2m overhang plus guttering. Lined with a 47 x 47mm frame and finished with 12mm 'softlining' overlap cladding.

Roofing Structure
The depth of the building is 3.6m with a 1.2m overhang. The ridge height is 3.1m not including the single course of brickwork. Different ridge heights apply to alternative designs. The round edged purlins are hung in pre-fabricated metal joist hangers and are between 125 x 45mm to 150 x 45mm spaced at 400mm centres. Trusses constructed of 94 x 45mm and 120 x 45mm round edged timbers. All trusses fixed to partitions by way of 100mm or 150mm timber-lock screws.

Roofing Finishes
Black Onduline with a galvanised ridge - matching black Onduline ridge available on request. Alternative grey cement fibre roofing available at no additional cost. One clear roof sheet is fitted in each loose box and hay barn as standard but are not fitted in Tack Rooms for security reasons..

Guttering
112mm black Upvc gutters fitted with 68mm down pipes to both front and rear elevations.

GENERAL

Tack Rooms / Feed Rooms
Fully lined to eaves height (2.2m) with 12mm plywood. Adjacent trusses lined with 12mm plywood internally. No windows or clear roof sheets supplied or recommended. Roof is lined with 11mm O.S.B. and covered with breathable d.p.m. prior to onduline being fitted.

Hay Barns
Similar in design to stables but are unlined on the interior, to show the framework. All other specifications apply as to stables.

Corner Boxes
Single hip and valley design. Stable door to front elevation with one window to a rear wall. All other specifications apply as to stables.

Treatment – Exterior Finish
All timbers with exception of any sheet material are vacuum pressure impregnated treated with permawood 1704 preservative manufactured to BS8417 table 9. Standard colour finish is indicated within the relevant brochure. Alternative colour finishes of dark brown and black available. Some buildings may require further treatments during construction on site.

Installations
The Hunter range has an advantage of a significant amount of pre-manufacturing before delivery to site. A one-week break is recommended before subsequent contractors are allowed to fit other services. All installation schedules are estimated.
